There are many organisations, charities, and awards that we’re proud to be affiliated with. They affirm the high standard of our volunteer projects and internships. Many of our affiliates also offer benefits to our volunteers and interns when they join one of our projects.
B Corp
Projects Abroad is proud to be a certified B Corporation ('B Corp'). This is a signal of our commitment to people and planet. It means we are members of a global community that use business as a force for good. As at June 2024, there were approx. 8,800 B Corps globally, with just 50 of these being travel companies.
WTM Responsible Tourism
We've partnered with WTM Responsible Tourism who aim to unite travel companies, organisations and individuals who provide responsible and sustainable initiatives through ethical methods and practices. They highlight the work communities take part in around the world, to help build a solid, sustainable future for travel and tourism.
Duke of Edinburgh’s Award
We’re an approved activity provider for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, the world’s leading youth development award. Open to anyone aged 14 to 24, the DofE is a leading charity in the UK which encourages teamwork and social interaction, and helps young people to stand out from the crowd when applying for university and jobs. Doing their DofE offers young people the chance to experience new activities and develop their existing skills.
Centre for Global Citizenship Studies
We’ve formed a partnership with the Centre for Global Citizenship Studies (CGCS), experts and specialists in the international development field. Together, we’ve designed a bespoke, fully accredited Level 3 International Volunteering Diploma, especially for Projects Abroad volunteers! That means you can gain academic credit while volunteering with Projects Abroad. Join one of our projects and receive 16 UCAS points for volunteering! Improve your CV while making an impact.
Learning Outside the Classroom (LOtC)
We have the Learning Outside the Classroom (LOtC) Quality Badge, a national accreditation recognising organisations that provide good quality educational experiences champion teaching and learning in places other than the classroom.
Expedition Providers Association (EPA)
We run Expedition Providers Association (EPA) approved programmes abroad that are fully assessed, and hold the Learning Outside the Classroom (LOtC) quality badge for overseas expeditions. EPA is dedicated to the safety and quality of overseas trips.
Travel Aware
We’ve partnered with Travel Aware to ensure British nationals are better prepared for a safe and healthy trip abroad. Together with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, they provide essential travel advice and up-to-date country information for those living and travelling overseas.
British Standard BS 8848
We’re fully BS 8848 certified. BS 8848 are standards set to minimise the risks of any adventure travel programmes outside the United Kingdom. All of our volunteer projects and internships abroad received approval after full research, safety audits, and risk assessments were completed by an external party.
International Volunteer Programmes Association (IVPA)
We’re a member of the International Volunteer Programs Association (IVPA). They’re a non-profit accrediting organisation dedicated to promoting awareness of and access to quality volunteer abroad programmes.
World Youth Student and Educational Travel Confederation
We’re a member of the World Youth Student and Educational (WYSE) Travel Confederation. They’re an organisation dedicated to promoting and developing opportunities for young travellers and the youth, student and educational travel industry that serves them.

We encourage alumni to write reviews about their experience with us on TrustPilot. This review platform is open to everyone who wants to share their story about companies they’ve dealt with, and others looking to discover new businesses. The aim is to bring people and companies together to create ever-improving experiences.

We’ve partnered with Go Abroad, a leading online search engine for international travel programmes. They provide everything from information on volunteer programmes or internships abroad, to expert advice and real-life reviews.
GoOverseas
We’ve partnered with Go Overseas, an online guide to over 14,000 study, volunteer, intern, gap-year or teach abroad programmes. Their mission is to empower human connection through perspective-changing travel. They also collect community reviews that will help you choose your next adventure.
Volunteer Forever
We’ve partnered with Volunteer Forever. They help individuals find the right volunteer projects, internships, or teaching trips abroad for them. You can search through their programme reviews and raise funds for your trip using their crowdfunding platform.
