Doctors in Athens

Where in Greece will I work?

Athens

As an intern, you’ll work in the thriving, historically-rich capital of Greece. While there are plenty of modern healthcare facilities in Athens, some areas may be less developed than you’re used to. Heading abroad for your Medical Internship will test your skills and boost your resilience.

Situated between the mountains and the sea, Athens is a scenic destination popular with travellers. It’s also bursting with historical sights, such as the Acropolis, an ancient monument and UNESCO World Heritage Site.

In this busy city, the hospitals and clinics where you intern may be overcrowded and understaffed. These operational challenges – which may differ from what you’re used to – will help you develop skills that make you a stand-out medical candidate.

Outside of your hospital work, prepare to marvel at the history and culture found on every street in Athens.

AIRPORT PICKUP, FLIGHTS AND VISAS

When you arrive at your respective airport, a member of Projects Abroad staff will be there to meet you. You can find more detailed information on arrival airports, orientation, and visas on our Greece Arrival Procedures page.
